Floor 15:
Once again, we have encountered the dread Tomb Lord! This time, though, we don't get killed by magma instantly, so we're going to fight it.
Tomb Lords have huge amounts of health, and shoot out swarms of flies that do 2 damage each. Getting caught by this is approximately extremely fatal. Thus, our only choice is to use bombs thrown at odd angles.
Tragically, a dame was sacrificed to get the kill. A damn shame, especially because I really could use that extra health right now! Fortunately, though, I killed the Tomb Lord, which will net me the Scepter of Ra, which is the game's strongest weapon.
Except that it failed to drop the Scepter, for reasons unknown.
Hoooo boy.
Can you say FINAL BOSS TIME?
This is Olmec. Let's break it down:
1: He is impervious to all weapons in the game.
2: He jumps around, trying to smash you with enough force to crush the stone you walk on.
3: Getting jumped on is instantly fatal.
See those yellow orbs? He shoots them out when he lands, sometimes. When they touch ground, they turn into random monsters, from any point in the game.
How are we supposed to deal with this shit?
The answer should be obvious to anybody who played Super Mario Bros. 3.
There, ladies and gentlemen, lies our answer. Lava is Olmec's single weakness.
Almost there! Those damn frogs he can summon make this a lot harder, as they're ready to leap down into the pit at a moment's notice, and I can't attack up, thanks to not having found the Scepter.
Victory is mine! Also, with Olmec dead, those frogs will end up jumping straight into the lava.
Thus, the exit to the dungeon is opened. But I'm not taking it yet.
No, I'm going up.
Treasure!
The whole upper half of this floor is filled with floating platforms covered in gold and gems. It's easy to miss it!
The treasure extends all the way up to the ceiling. I'm getting so rich!
And that's about as much as I can scavenge.
Hooray!
This kind of irritates me, just because my score was SO CLOSE to breaking $200,000. However, a win is a win!
You shall be remembered as a hero.
