In the legend of King Arthur, the real ability of the holy sword is said to be the power of immortality in its sheath.
It has the ability to heal the wounds of its owner and stop their aging, but it can actually be called a "moving fortress" centered on an individual.
By producing the sheath and moving oneself into the land of the fairies, it shuts out all physical interactions.
It can even defend against one of the sorceries, internation.

But there's still one thing left to do.
The Grail must be destroyed.
And so, just as Kiritsugi Emiya ended his Holy Grail War...

Shirou has finally come to terms with this inevitable moment. He won't take Saber's true life away from her for his own selfishness.
To do so would be to dishonor her forever.

Oh right, about my magical hot girlfriend going back in time and dying.
But then again, rather than regretting the past, isn't it better to just remember it?

Centuries earlier
The great battle has ended.
Two knights remain alive.
Arturia's final moments.
She awakens, mentioning a dream she was having.
I think we know what dream that was.
A dream of another time, and another war...
And this scene happens.
Thrice the sword is returned.
Thrice Arturia makes Bedivere go back to cast away the sword.
And so the Lady of the Lake reclaims her sword.
And so Arturia's reign ends.
And thusly
does Saber's story come to a close.
FIN
So we beat the final boss and saved the day and got the good ending!
Are we done with Fate?
FUCK NO
And here's why:
WE'RE MISSING A TIGER STAMP
The reason is that there's one Bad End in Fate that can only be attained via having an abhorrently low amount of Saber Points near the end.
