>> Route 1, Chapter 10: Information Overload
Previously, Tsugumi was stuck with a stabbed leg in rapidly rising water!
Despite all this, she seems resentful about getting rescued.
COME ON, WOMAN.
I'LL BE DAMNED IF I LET HER DIE WITH THE LAST WORD
ENGAGE RESCUE
To complicate matters, the infringing water is ice cold.
OH GOD SO COLD
Now that it's underwater, though, it's light enough to move!
Shut up, Tsugumi, I'm saving your ass.
Or would be, if the exit wasn't underwater by now. Opening the door would flood the second floor.
GO GO GO GO GO GO
Problem 1 dealt with!
Problem 2: Girl bleeding to death on my shoulder.
Sora's here to give me directions!
We can do this.
She's lost a hell of a lot of blood. We've got to hurry!
Compound fracture in the injured leg, severed artery. Sora has the knowledge, LeMU has the supplies, You has the manual dexterity.
LET'S GO.
Except there's not really much else I can do at this point.
Whew. Just gonna trust in Sora and You.
I sure as hell hope so, Coco!
SOME TIME LATER:
She's going to live!
Basically fucked for mobility for the rest of our stay in LeMU, though, one way or another.
Flooding was contained within the warehouse!
No further damage.
With nothing more to do for Tsugumi, we're back to killing time.
Anything to keep our minds off of the situation at hand.
At the infirmary, killing time before dinner!
Kid is proving himself surprisingly adept with machines.
Antics, amnesia, You.
Tsugumi is sleeping in the bed across the infirmary.
You is worried about her condition.
My primary emotional response, on the other hand, is guilt.
This is my fault.
Sora says I should let her rest for now.
Also, she wants to talk to me about something!
Ominous!
I don't have anything better to do!
>Go.
You and Kid give me odd looks, because Sora is currently only visible and audible to me.
To the dolphin carousel!
Sora gets philosophical for a bit! Apparently she liked this place before the accident.
Just a couple months from IRL time!
Is Sora being nostalgic! Is that possible for an AI?
Wait, this is your big secret?
Apparently she had a lot of fun playing kick the can before.
Sora, you are weird!
PURSUE
THIS IS THE MOST UNFAIR TAG
I CAN'T EVEN TOUCH YOU SINCE YOU'RE A VIRTUAL IMAGE
In short, Sora is Behaving Strangely.
ARE YOU DRUNK SORA
WHAT IS GOING ON
Wait, what?
Back to yesterday's conversation!
The reason there is only one Sora.
This game was released years ago, so this is some made-up sci-fi law!
>No.
The relevant point here is that clones have the exact same starting point, but develop in different ways.
Like clones, there exist multiple possible versions of Sora.
She is one, yet she is many.
If an exact copy of me, every memory and personality trait intact, was created, which one is the real me?
Sora's answer is both, in the same sense that all these Soras are the same person.
I get the what, if not the why!
>Hear more.
Me and my theoretical clone would each have our own life story, after a point. Before that point, though, we were one.
Our timeline is a Y.
And this turns into a discussion of parallel universe theory!
If two versions of me differed by one choice, that would be a similar "Y" timeline.
There's no way to percieve these alternate selves, so long as I'm a three-dimensional being.
It's no more possible than it is for a flatlander to observe a sphere.
This conversation is getting more complicated!
TLDR VERSION SORA
-Humans have 2D vision - your field of vision is a plane.
-If you had 3D vision, you would be able to see from every angle at once.
-If you had 4D vision, you would be able to see all possible alternate timelines at once.
Okay this is fucking great, Sora, but WHY are you telling me all of this?
Sora is again playing mystery girl. All she says is that it's related to a legend of the Lemurian continent...
