All my friends who feed their dogs or cats Nutro: STOP!
They are under investigation by the FDA right now for repeated contamination and poisoning in their products.

See, some news came out a year or two ago about Nutro and I just ignored it for the same reason; Cinder didn't seem to have serious problems, "sure her stomach is sensitive and she gets soft poos and spits up semi regularly, but I'm it'll be fine" kind of a thing. But now that we switched, I've come to realize that a lot of those tummy issues might have been caused by the Nutro...
However, Sascha is obviously a different case. And a lot of people have reported that they've fed nutro long-term and never had a single problem. So I don't know if it's just one of those things I tend to find on the internet which cause unnecessary panic in my hypochondriac brain, or whether there's something to it. Arg! I hate that you can't just trust a dog food company to make a freaking good product!
Anyway, the bil-jac is great stuff, although it looks like rabbit food. Also, I am a tad worried about how it'll do with her teeth, since it's small and not much chewing is happening... Cinder now eats like a duck.

Yeah I had heard Nutro had changed hands and the quality had deteriorated. There have indeed been mixed reports about it but it would be enough to make me cautious.

I haven't fed dog food in a couple of years, so I didn't have to make that decision. Wolfie is allergic to EVERYTHING so the boys are on a raw diet.

Anyway, Bil-Jac is a great food as far as I'm aware. I actually have Bil-Jac biscuits in the house because they don't seem to bother Wolfie's sensitive system.

REALLY? It's the candy company? I didn't even think about that and just assumed there was some pet food conglomerate with the same name. Huh. Maybe there's chocolate in there. ;p
