Your last paragraph particularly struck a chord with me - I feel exactly the same way. I'm not especially inclined toward extroversion, but sometimes life necessitates it and it's often a lot less costly than introversion. One of my few struggles in Charleston is finding another person to share some of the things I truly enjoy with - no one ever wants to go to the symphony or would even understand if I talked about classical music, few people are as into video games as I am, and generally a lot of people's interests don't blend with me very well (especially the drinking part, almost all of my friends go drinking on a regular basis, whether that's weekly or nightly ( ... )

Too many times have I heard, "that's just the way life is," and I don't believe it. Not for a minute. We are not naturally inclined to create scapegoats and exclusive cliques. We are not naturally dispositioned to forget our responsibilities toward othersKeep believing this. I know I do. Keep insisting upon this as loudly as you can. I know, I know, sometimes you'll find people, whole groups of 'em, who just won't live up to it, but they're more than compensated for by the glorious others you find as well ( ... )
