We disappoint, we disappear, we die, but we don't.

The physical pain I'm in aside (the strep... it is back... or something like it. Lymphnodes and tonsils are swollen, hurts to swallow, sneeze, eat, etc. The fever last night was fucking AWESOME. I sweat so much, that I think I've lost 50% of my body's water mass. And it was just getting worse until I said, "Fuck it" and took some tylenol. No, ( Read more... )

::hugs::

The only reason I might ever think things justified for making the headlines is why they were targeted. Being targeted as random individuals is bad, but people being targeted for race, nation, creed, etc. is even more dissapointing.

Hope you feel better.

Well, it's all very Eddie Izzard-ish-- "People have been killing each other for ages, but they do it within their own country and we're sort of fine with that. 'Help yourselves! We've been trying to kill you for ages!' Hitler killed people next door. Stupid man."

I will grant you that the attacks in India are larger in magnitude and much more internationally political. I'd put it on the front page too. I'm just not one hundred percent behind the school's reaction to it.

I happen to agree with you...yes, the attacks on the JCC stood out to me, but...this was primarily an attack on Indians. And yes, we're more likely to stick together now and part of me thinks that's a good thing. That may be a horrible, horrible thought, but the unity implications of the carnage at the Nariman House can't be ignored.
I have been wondering about you and the Thai situation.

Seeing as we've talked about your response, thank you for supporting my belief in this. :)

As for my parents/me-- dad needs heart surgery in the next couple of weeks. The thought was they could negotiate it taking place this week, and dad would be able to travel for Christmas so I could see them in Iowa. However, the heart surgeon is currently in Singapore, and because of the popular demonstrations in the airports, the surgeon can't get back into the country. So, it's looking more and more like I won't see my folks at Christmas, and it's got me in a tizzy.
