they look so silly it's kind of endearing, really
Also, the reason I don't post to LJ much is because thinking about posting to LJ occasionally causes me to have random bouts of depression (but not today, which is cool!)
1)
The Persona 4 anime seems pretty promising so far (I am, of course, ignoring the embittered animators who quit the project and have been posting about how terrible they think the show is on their Twitters because they have obvious reasons to be biased), especially considering that it'll probably include the social links. An anime adaption of a video game which actually doesn't just skip straight over all of the original game's optional content? Yes. I mean, admittedly the pacing is super fast, but I hope they'll be able to cover most of the important stuff!
As for Yu's personality, he seems a little bland so far, but I'm hoping his character will develop more as his "stats" increase - meaning he'll become more and more charismatic as the anime goes on. It'd be really interesting, albeit very hard to pull off. (And can I just mention that I love how the anime decided to keep the statistics and game calendar? It's just a really nice throwback to the game and now I feel like replaying it ♥)
Oh, and I'm not all that worried about the new anime-exclusive character. It'd make sense for her to replace one of the social links. The one with the fox, perhaps? That particular link always seemed to be there mostly for gameplay purposes imo, so there wouldn't be that much of a point in including it in the anime.
Also, I think the writers are going out of their way to make you ship Yu/Yosuke. They just have the shippiest scenes together, okay
This is only somewhat related, but I've always wondered what it'd be like to see an anime adaption of a video game which kept all of said game's story-related content, including side-quests and the like. The pacing would be really slow, yeah, but I'm still kind of curious as to how it'd turn out. (I can't help but to imagine a Tales of anime with fully animated and voiced skits, or an FE anime with all of the supports
... um I think I just really want a good FE anime)

Sometimes I wonder why I lurk the SA forums but I just can't seem to stop
I mean, I also lurk GameFAQs, so yeah I have a lurking problem I can't help it
Either way, I decided to read
this one Radiant Dawn LP on a whim (actually, I had been planning to read it for a while), and it was pretty great! I'm especially intrigued by the fact that the forum members didn't complain about the blood pact (!), praised the foreshadowing (!!) and the writing (!!!) and it just made me really happy because it's such a nice contrast to the way GameFAQs can't stop complaining about how "the blood pact totally makes zero sense NOBODY should ever like RD's story"
And now I feel less alone in thinking FE games have pretty good writing in general. The dialogue just feels so... down-to-earth, somehow? I don't really know how to explain it, but most dialogue in JRPGs doesn't really have that quality.
I'm kind of happy that the LPer ended up bringing Fiona to endgame and making her useful, too! :D I wasn't aware of the particular leveling trick he used (which, for the record, involved having Nailah use Glare on a Priest with a staff, which works nicely since the Priest is unable to counterattack, takes much less damage than usual thanks to the +10 defense bonus, and still regenerates some health from having the staff equipped), but it seems like a better idea than boss abusing and I should try it sometime.

This video of Phoenix Wright in Marvel vs Capcom is probably not really relevant to the interests of, well, the vast majority of the people on my flist, but I'm still posting about it here because
he attacks by throwing paper at his enemies
it's just so perfect
