His voice comes back to her. "You know that won't hurt me."
It comes up just before she knocks on the door to Mohinder's apartment. She's used to the terror by now - she can work through it, keep pushing herself through it.
But not before checking the shadows first. It's a long, dark hallway.
Her skin is waxy - dark circles under her eyes - blood in her hair - and she smells like she's been wearing those clothes for a few days.
Mohinder has two seconds to notice all this before she's striding into his room. Her movements are broad, exaggerated - she's playing the part of the soldier because she knows it's needed, but her mind isn't on the task at hand.
"You have to leave, Mohinder," she says. "I failed and you have to leave."

He is covered in dust, and there is a brush of dirt over his nose.
To be fair, he only gapes at her for a minute. "Eden!"
