Name: Mohinder Suresh.
Age: Thirty.
Birthday: May seventeenth.
Current Location: New York, New York.
Profession: Mohinder was a professor in India, but he gave up all that to become a cab driver in New York; not because he particularly wanted to, but because it was the only stable income he could earn on a regular basis while attempting to solve the mystery of his father's murder. He still has a tendency to act like a professor, no matter what country he's residing in, and while he tries to put on an air of everyday ignorance--he truly does not succeed very well.
Personality: Mohinder is an intellectual first, and a spiritual being second. While religion does play into his research, intellectuality is what is held closest to him, partly because of his father's life as a scientist. However, Mohinder's own beliefs have been formed around a mixture of science and Hindi culture ethics. Unlike his father, Mohinder didn't and hasn't had the courage to completely estrange himself from religion. The myths of Kali and Vishnu follow him always, no matter how much he tries to claim indifference.
Mohinder can sometimes have violent reactions to things which tend to push people away, and counter his best interests. He has a temper, and it can occasionally get out of hand, especially when he's faced with something that both frustrates and gets to the core of his insecurities. He's also very stubborn, and sometimes does not know when to stop talking about theories or connections or things that interest him, just to frustrate other people. If Mohinder doesn't like you, you'll know. He's not one to hide things.
Unfortunately, alongside a temper comes a fairly detailed sense of sarcasm, which comes along readily when called upon. His sense of deadpan is pretty much unequalled. For someone who, in India, was a respected professor and a talented geneticist, Mohinder can be incredibly immature--and selfish. However, that's not to say that his maturity isn't present--especially in the face of what he's dealing with in finding his father's secrets. Even so, for a someone with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Parapsychology, Mohinder can often seem very young, and even at times inexperienced.
In truth, most of what Mohinder is striving for at this point in his life is validation for a relationship with his father that, as he has mentioned before, hadn't existed for ten years. Mohinder followed in his father's footsteps in becoming a brilliant geneticist and researcher of the human mind, but has always fallen just short of everything he's struggled for; but with this addition of the shock of his father's death, and more and more discoveries about his father's research and how true it's turning out to be... Mohinder feels, somewhat for the first time in a long time, that he has a purpose again.
That he can make a difference.
Yes, we are all special.
Likes: Reading. Getting enough sleep, something that has eluded him since he was quite young -- he suffers from moderate insomnia, if only because once he gets absorbed into something, he rarely stops it. Macaroni and cheese, now that he's tried some. He enjoys cooking, although you'll have to torture him to get him to admit this, and he almost never cooks for himself, because obviously starving is better than not finishing work. The only thing he makes for himself in the morning is strong English Breakfast (which he has yet to find a good brand of in America) and (rarely) toast. He had a watermelon slice when he was seven and ended up eating the whole thing, but unfortunately has not had one since.
Dislikes: Heights.
