WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN PROFILEDESIGN?
There are several reasons to join profiledesign. One of which is to share journal userinfos with other users, another being using those that are posted.
profiledesign IS NOT a place where two people make userinfos, and then everyone else takes them. It is for everyone, all 200+ of you, to share and trade. While yes, kamino and I seem to be the only ones really into this (with a handful of others, don't get me wrong), it's boring to view a community that no one participates in. Please participate in this community if you want to join.
RULES OF THE COMMUNITY
• CREDIT IS A MUST! All designs MUST be credited to either the respected creator or to the community, profiledesign.
• Participatation is encouraged. If you like something, but don't want to use it, tell the creator what you think. Constructive criticism isn't just used in writing these days.
• No flaming one another.
• We (kamino and kireina) decide what gets posted in this community. Off-topic posts will not be allowed. Do not waste our time with those. If it is something of importance and it is rejected, we will contact the user who posted it.
• Any questions of significance can be commented to any of the public entries.
• All posts must be friends-only.
• Please host images and/or .zip files to your own server. Hotlinking is only allowed when the creator gives you permission.
ACCEPTED/REJECTED
kamino and kireina are both responsible for acceptance into this community. We started pending acceptance in autumn 2005 to keep people whom we might find as thieves out. We don't do this because we want elite users, but because we want to make sure that proper credit will go to the proper creators. Both of us are big on credit; it's a must for both the mods and it is insanely encouraged for all users.
THINGS THAT WILL GET YOU ACCEPTED
• Credit your usericons. Even if you made them yourself. Looking suspicious will get you rejected.
• Credit any images and/or layouts, even if they are your own. It helps us out.
THINGS THAT WILL GET YOU REJECTED
• If you have DUMB rules for being friends with you, such as, "YOU CAN'T LIKE MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE" or "NO 13-YEAR-OLD STUPID POSERS!!11!!", we'll probably reject you. We HAVE kicked people out because of these. We want decent people, not assholes.
• If you do not credit/claim credit to yourself and we find out.
• We do not accept role-playing journals.
• Don't accept non-active journals, either.
• Graphics journals ARE allowed if we can see that you credit properly. Linking your personal journal helps us review you for acceptance. Remember: this is not ELITE... We just want to assure that people will not be stealing the material posted here.
• Color bars to the extreme will get you rejected. Like seriously, who needs 50 color bars? One is perfect. When you use our designs, they're going to get stretched out and look ridiculous with all of those colorbars.
• If any previous LJ accounts have been suspended and we find out about it.
• We do not accept anyone who uses any forms of profanity in their public journals or in their user infos that we might find immature and hurtful, including words such as: "nig(ger)(a')", "fag(got)(s)", "cunt", reference to anyone of South-West Asian decent as "camels", and anything else that we as mods may find unacceptable. We're both insanely liberal people, and we will stand up for the protection of all our members, as well as anyone else out there.
STAYING IN THE COMMUNITY
All users are subject to random checks. This means that whenever the two of us get so bored that we start going through every user. Yeah...that's a lot of mouse clicks, we know. Sometimes users leave without telling us, no longer updating. To protect the communities privacy. We also check to see if people are not breaking our rules/requirements. People whom no longer meet these requirements have and will be banned from the community. Only with permission from a mod will allow you back into the community.
REQUESTS
All requests and suggestions for profiles should be posted HERE only. From this moment forward, 11:39PM EST on Monday, November 14th, 2005, if anyone tries to post a request for a profile in an entry to be posted, you will get one warning. If you do it again, we will ban you.
The reason that we do this is for the fact that we don't want to spam the community with a bunch of "can you make this for me?" posts.
We encourage all members to take a look at the request post to help out other members, being as the mods can't always fill everything right away.
