That's incredibly brave of you. I wouldn't have had the guts to do that in high school...

By coming out you're actually taking the power away from would be harassers. It's hard to poke fun at someone when they are comfortable and honest about themselves. You're doing a really awesome thing and it will probably end up helping other students at your school.
