[The sound of tinkering can be heard, most likely from a Pokegear being examined at different angles and someone just pushing anything that eye catching. The owner of the device doesn’t quite seem to notice that is voice recorder is on due to the fact that there is nothing but silence and those usual sounds of the Pokegear being fiddled ( Read more... )

I am afraid I cannot help with your questions. None of us have found out the way back home and none of the locals are aware of even the largest cities.

So I have heard from others that are forced to dwell here as well. Though thank you, miss...?

[Well, he assumes Naoto's a lady. He did hear some pretty deep voiced woman back home...but then again, he could be mistaken. Thank God this isn't video or Layton would be confused. Oh Naoto~]

[Naoto would be impressed, but she still hasn't fully grasped that people aren't super-perceptive.]

I am Naoto Shirogane. It's nice to meet you, professor.

And it's a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Shirogane. I assume you are either Chinese or Japanese?

[There's not really a lot where he is from. He got one Asian assistant though.]

Ah, Japanese.

If you wish to start out, you'll find the next town about a three days walk. Unfortunately, there is very little in the town we all wake up in.

Ah, so Japanese then.

Oh, I have seen that on my map. Cherrygrove City or something of the sort, correct? But three days? Oh dear...

Yes, very little in the town and very strange....Apparently everyone has their "mothers" living there...

From what I have gathered, it is the same woman--or several very similar women. Why she is pretending to be our mother is still unclear. No one has been able to ask--or thought to.

[pause]

The journey is a little difficult but as long as you take care to ration your food you'll find it bearable.

[Oh wow. Same woman or clones? That doesn't sound creepy at all...Nope...]

That's quite unnerving to hear that this lady is doing such a thing, even if no harm is done. Perhaps myself or someone should ask the ma'am.

And thank you for the advice. I have quite a few of these "Trail Mix", but it is important to confine my eating. It does seem filled with nutrition, for something so small as this.

I was unable to re-enter the house and did not see her again before I left or I would have. Everyone else I've talked with has faced similar obstacles to speaking with her.

It is even simpler if you are able to forage for additional food.

Well, that does quite limit any possibilities of questioning her. I am quite curious as to what this ma'am's motives are.

And it would. I assume that a market will be available in this upcoming city?

I believe that if we could speak with her we would have more insight on the motives and means of our being brought here.

Yes, there is plenty of food available in Cherrygrove.

Yes. Perhaps in the future when we return, we may be able to question her, or find out the meaning to our arrivals ourselves.

Ah, wonderful. As much as I may love these ingredients in trail mix, I would love to get my hands on some tea in town. Thank you.

[Naoto chuckles]

Yes, the food on the trail can be somewhat lacking.

Yes, quite. I must brew you some tea if we ever meet in the future. I'm sure I can find a kind that suits your tastes.

However, I have actually not even heard of trail mix existing since I have arrived, though I would like to bring some home if I ever managed to get back. It'll be quite benefiting for those packing low.

I would like that very much. I am certain that given time you will catch up.

[He can't see it but she's raising an interested eyebrow at the no trail mix statement.]

May I ask where you are resigning at the moment, Miss Shirogane? Perhaps I could arrive there quickly, if it is not too far.

[ Well, the Professor can't see it, but he could sense something. That and with no response to his trail mix statement. He is from the 1920s and trail mix being "invented" in around the 1960s. ]

Hm? Have I said something strange?
