France Upset with U.S.-Australia Submarine Deal

The United States and Australia have reached an agreement on the former providing the latter with nuclear submarine technology, thus frustrating a French effort to do the same.  The French are enraged by this turn of events:

I seem to recall France having forbidden US fighter jets from traversing French airspace to reach Libya, some years ago. That must be their idea of close diplomatic ties.

Glad you enjoyed it. I understand the French are now trying to sell Australia on the idea of a giant defensive wall along the coast line because there would be no way for an attacking power to get through or behind it.
