For those whom I haven't told, I was offered a fellowship for my grad work at UT (Middle Eastern Studies MA program). Huzzah! They're paying me a stipend of $12,000 over the nine month academic year, and are also paying $4,000 of my tuition per semester, and paying for me to have medical insurance through the school if I want. holy crap! that stipend is SO much more generous than UNT, i'm jealous! my student loans are freaking outrageous... thank goodness i don't have to worry about paying those back for a few more years.
do they have a clause that bars you from working outside the department though? UNT did, at least for psychology-related work.

I don't think they have that clause, but then, my work for the American Cancer Society is hardly going to be in competition with anything I do for the Middle Eastern Studies department. heh
