Individual vs. Society
"Which is more important: the individual or society?"
"Only the individual can achieve enlightenment."
A Zen Buddhist would state that enlightenment eliminates the individual, so the question is itself based on a false premise. However, since you can't eliminate the individual without first removing them from society, the implied priority still -
Interventionism
Something that bugs me: the internal inconsistencies present in the philosophies of both the Republicans and Democrats on the matter of interventionism. Apparently someone put together a map that shows the name, addresses, and jobs of everyone who donated money to support Prop 8. Admittedly, all the info is in the public domain, so no laws were broken. But that doesn't make it any less creepy.
