Although I don't particularly like Michael Savage, I have to agree with you that it's silly for the UK to ban him from entering the country. This move without a doubt contradicts a fundamental component of liberal democracy, freedom of speech, that all democracies, the UK included, are proud to uphold. Savage is indeed a certifiable nutjob (his infamous retort to a caller to 'get AIDS and die' in response to some jibe about his teeth a case in point), but it stretches the imagination to believe that he would incite violence.

If one takes offense to the views of another, shame him or her in a reasonable debate, not through an unnecessary and silly diplomatic procedure.
