I can vouch for the political leanings of that area; that district was where I lived growing up. Nowadays it ranges from "conservative-leaning Latin Americans" to "OMG gun-rack-pickup-truck crackers" and not much else. My capital-L Liberal parents were definitely out of place. That Northwestern region around Ocala is serious xenophobic Republicanland for the most part. He must've been running against someone awful. = ) More power to him!! I hope we get an armada of copycats. He's got enough balls that he could hand out a few; who knows, maybe Reid and Pelosi will get a pair between them.
