That's not racist. You're just expressing yourself and what you said there is one of the problems I have with many aspects of my own Asian culture even though I'm a fourth generation American. My biggest problem is the whole eye contact thing. To me, being American and just being the person I am, I think not making eye contact is disrespectful. I learned that's just not the way a lot of Asians are though, particularly Japanese people. And when you reach out to hug them or whatever they just pull away because those signs of affection just are lacking. So is the thing about being 'zen' all the time. It's a problem I've had with my own family, and I also realized that despite my parents being so American, there's so many deeply ingrained cultural beliefs that refuse to die. Such as not showing affection and praising.
And the thing about being subservient? Forget it. I see it all the time in my family with the women, even though amazingly, I see a lot of white men with very bossy Asian wives.
