Okay, so, a couple weeks ago the US Senate voted on Cloture (ie closure, basically) on the Bolton Nomination--the Republicans want an outright up and down vote, the Democrats want some vital records on Bolton turned over before they decide on an up and down vote (what some would call a filibuster).
