Happy New Year!

A few days ago I flew over New Mexico - in the window seat. (I ordinarily fly aisle for logistical reasons.) I spent the flight glued to the window watching the mountains roll by below me. Beautiful! More on that later. For now: resolutions for 2008!

I resolve to be healthier.

I resolve to stop lying.

"Drew, we're one of Fred's New Year's Resolutions!" -- What a way to start a girl's morning.

I heartily endorse the dance lessons too. Drew and I went back to ballroom this autumn and couldn't quite work out why we'd ever stopped. It's so much fun. And as an added bonus, guys who can dance are really attractive. ;)

I hope you have a wonderful year. You're certainly starting out on the right foot.

Anyway, that said. Nice set. The "stop lying" surprised me because I have trouble picturing you lying! But smoothing things over, OK, yeah, I can see that. I like the "be more of a man" thing...for all that the men's rights crowd weirds me out, I do think there's this old-school notion of manhood that involves strength and action and honor and so forth which we ought to see more of these days (and you're unusually well-placed to exemplify it). Have fun having fun!
