Book Recommendations Wanted!!

Dec 03, 2012 20:07

Hi guys!

I have got a voucher for Amazon and am thinking about investing it in eBooks. Therefore, I am looking for book recommendations - the more, the betterWANTED: philosophical stuff; books that make you laugh (e.g. British humour); good sci-fi; books that make you think; short stories; ....or anything else ( Read more... )

For good science fiction there is Steven Harper's "Silent Empire" series. I wrote a spoiler-free review about it here. I'm actually really happy you asked for eBooks, because the books are not available in print anymore; it took me quite some times to hunt the last one I was missing down a few years ago, but all four are available collected at amazon and you should also be able to look for single books.

"Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is a great book if you search for something to make you laugh, very British.
Something philosophical (but not too much) would be Ray Bradbury's "Dandelion Wine". Or, much sadder, Daniel Keyes "Flowers for Algernon".

Aaah, I have so many books to recommend, I don't know which ones to pick up. But there four, or rather 3 + a series, are definitely great reads!
