Every weeknight at 10pm, WNYC airs a Canadian radio program called Q with Jian Gomeshi. It's a talk show with a wide range of guests from international news figures to Canadian folk musicians. Kittens for sanity
It may have been a hasty decision to abandon the good ship lollipop of my Astoria apartment with delightful roommates and move out to suburgatory Bayside on my own. The kittens have returned home from their spaneutering adventure. The folks at the animal hospital warned me that the effects of the medication may not wear off for another 24 hours, but the kittens seem like their old selves to me. The vet techs also said the cats may not have much of an appetite, but they gobbled up their food with their usual ( Read more... ) -

Although I am only slowly creeping toward my goal of reading 16 books this year, I am making faster progress with the smaller goals:- Read a Sarah Vowell book: currently reading The Partly Cloudy Patriot

I've always considered February to be a masculine month, since my dad and grandpa were born in February, and March to be a feminine month, since my mom and sister were born in March.

Lost and Found
I went to band rehearsal on Monday without my stick bag or my music, and when I got down to the equipment closet, I discovered I was also missing the key. I just forgot the first two things, but my key to the equipment closet never leaves my key ring, so I was concerned. Two things I really liked about Gayby
A while back, I saw a movie called Gayby being advertised on Facebook. It looked cute, so I liked it in hopes that information on how to see it (when it was in theaters and where, etc.) would magically appear on my Facebook feed.
