Ready to submit an application or fill one out? Here's where you start. Before you begin, read over the guidelines to make sure you know what to do.
✧ Be sure to read over the FAQ/RULES, APPLICATION GUIDELINES, CHARACTER GUIDELINES and EXTENDED WORLD INFORMATION before filling out the form! This is very important!
✧ Make sure you aren't applying for someone who's already taken. Muses can be found HERE, on the Taken list.
✧ Please put the character name and series in the title of your comment! This makes it easier to get to and know what canon we're looking at.
✧ We accept challenge applications for reserved characters.
✧ We will do applications in an order based on what canons are known to the mod team. This means your application may be skipped while the moderators learn about your canon for fairness-- Don’t worry, we haven’t missed you!
✧ The moderator team will get to your application as soon as they are able. Please don’t email asking about when it will be judged.
✧ Please don’t plagiarize your application. All sections should be in your own words, including the samples. Catch phrases are fine, but samples taken whole-sale from canon will cause an auto-rejection. We want to see your interpretation of your character!
✧ If your application contains dark subject matter (Abuse, rape, torture, anything triggering, etc.) please providing warnings in the comment!

✧ HISTORY: A simple link will do, or if you prefer, you can bulletpoint the main facts that are relevant to your character. If you're apping an OC, here's where the difference diverges- we need a solid background. Something that makes them believable and real, as well as three-dimensional. It doesn't have to be a sob story, just something to give them depth and a motion of being like a real person should.
✧ TIMELINE: Where you're taking your muse from. Pre-canon, post-canon, post-death- it's all good so long as you have a way to make it work. OCs are included in this!
✧ PERSONALITY: We're not asking for a novel, but give us some detail! We need to be sure you know your character well enough to play them. With OCs, give us exactly who they are, and why Promenade would benefit by having them. This section should be a minimum of 2-3 paragraphs. If you can do more, fantastic.
✧ ABILITIES/POWERS: Mostly for the sake of the mods and others who read applications over- what does your character have, and just how powerful are they in their world?
✧ TIME OF ARRIVAL: Day or night? Depending on your choice, it will determine future events and interactions.
The following two are optional, and made for some fun as well as future events.
✧ MASK DESIGN: Photos or a verbal description works here. This is for the mask the character wears outside during the daytime. It may be made according to their personality, or however you think it might else fit them.
✧ PLACE OF SOLACE: 'Place of solace,' meaning a specific area from the character's world that gets added to Promenade once they arrive. Any persons recollected/met there will not be added, unless they are NPCs. (i.e. the angels in Bayonetta, demons in Devil May Cry, or fiends in the various Final Fantasy games.)
SAMPLES
✧ FIRST PERSON: I.e.- "I went to the store today and bought milk." All writing is from the point of view of the author. You need a minimum of ~150 words, although more would be fantastic.
A first person sample of 15 comments of this character in another game or musebox is also acceptable!
✧ THIRD PERSON: I.e.- "He felt like punching a wall because his brother was so stupid." Prose in this section describes things as a watcher looking over the scene as a whole. Dialogue and interaction between your character and others is more than acceptable, but the focus should be on your character and what they are thinking, feeling, and doing. This section should be roughly 300 words or more.
*** Alternatively, if you'd like to test your muse in the game setting you can use our muse trial community trialbydreams there's always a thread up for your character to actively participate in and you're welcome to link it in your application in place of a sample.
