Don't vote?

If you watch it, watch it all. It's worth it.

Even if you don't watch it, check out http://www.maps.google.com/vote , which is both neat and very useful.

Ps: Thanks to two_roads for posting this. It was funny, and awesome.

Dude, seriously? I love you sooo much, but this video was the most condescending thing I have seen in a long time. Sorry, the last thing I want is a bunch of uninformed voters getting out there because someone is telling them too. (And the peer pressure among the youth caucus to vote for Obama...I probably will too, but at least I know what he stands for, and don't pick him just cause Natalie Portman tells me too).(And I would LOVE to see how many of those celebrities actually vote themselves.)(Although I did appreciate that the video at least attempted to be non-partisan, mentioning right to life and second amendment-- I really, really get concerned we're shoot ourselves in the foot as liberals and alienate the middle...)

Did you hear about Ohio? How you can register and the SAME DAY fill out an absentee ballot, without proof of 30 days residency? (They're supposed to be holding those ballots until they can verify, but still). The last 2 elections were won by fraud...I don't want to see it happen here.

"Vote early, vote often".

Provisionals don't even get counted unless they matter, in which case they will go back and verify everything.

Huh, interesting. Well, I suppose that just goes to show you how people can take a message so differently. I found the piece witty and intelligent. I will agree with you that the thought of a ton of woefully uninformed voters going out and swinging an election doesn't thrill me... But hell, isn't that what won Bush the last election? That's what it seemed like to me. And no, I'm not a fan of the "If they get bigger guns, then you get even BIGGER guns" philosophy of politics, but I guess that to me this piece didn't feel at all like it was going so far in that direction, as opposed to taking a handful of voters who would see it and making them think, "Hah, ok, ok, I get the point. I'll get moving."

I'm not sure what's condescending there, I didn't feel that the tone was particularly patronizing and I disagree that the message was to just go out there and vote because a few celebrities were telling you to. The message I took away was more "So you don't vote because you think this has nothing to do with you? Do these issues have anything to do with you? Then maybe it's time to start paying attention"

If anything I think it's a clever tactic because it's more likely to prompt people to investigate the candidates to understand their stance on those things they care about.

I must be missing something. How can I register to vote entirely online in Minnesota? I am only finding mail in forms and what not.

Oh, all registrations have to be either mailed in or handed to someone in the end. There is no "entirely online" voter registration, because you have to sign something (if I remember correctly).

However! In MN, I believe you are allowed to register on election day at your polling place if you have proper identification and proof of your residence.
