[A. Action for Housemates: Carrie has slowly been getting used to Mayfield. Very slowly. The most important thing she has to cope with, Mamma isn't here. Mamma isn't here so there's no one to yell at her, make her wear horrible clothing, lock her in her closet. But people show up here, and she doesn't have her power anymore. She's defenceless again

Back home, they're rare, but they do exist. I know one telekinetic, and there are some cantrips that can manipulate objects. Most of the testing I've seen shows it takes about the same amount of energy, but that's just in my world.

[ Her voice is calm and matter-of-fact. ]

They can be, hon. Everybody has different talents, some more noticeable than others. For instance, I can sew well enough, but my sister is the one with the talent for design. Telekenisis, telepathy, finders, and precognitive abilities are all just different abilities, just like being able to draw, juggle or dance.

[Canada is out for a walk with her bear and moose, and it's the young moose that spots the pinecone behaving oddly. Of course, this sends him into a panic, hiding behind his nation's legs until she looks around for the cause of the disturbance. After a moment of watching, she'll quietly make her way over to the girl.]

[Carrie hasn't noticed so she'll just continue practising. Moving the pinecone up and down in the air.]

[After a bit more watching, Canada politely clears her throat, still a generous distance away.]

[Carrie freezes and the pine cone falls to the ground.]

(Engie's just walking by when he spots her, staring at the church. He's about to go in to have his quiet time, but Jesus won't begrudge him ten minutes to find out if anything's wrong with her.)

Howdy miss. You alright there?

[Carrie freezes and looks over at him. Suddenly wary.]

I'm...fine.

[hardhat_truckie]

Ya sure? Ya look like a rabbit when a shotgun's aimed at it.

(He quickly adds:)

Not that anyone's gonna shoot ya, of course. Jus' mah figure of speech.
