Title: Never Get Him Out Of Your Head
Characters: Catty/Sam
'Verse:
squarewarts Rating: PG - R
#01 Comfort
She hates when he gets that look, where his entire face just pulls into a frown that looks permanent, like he'll never feel happy again, and she thinks it's wrong because Sam deserves to be happy; she does whatever she can to make it seem okay for another day more.
#02 Kiss
Catty always greets him with a kiss whenever she sees him, whether it's been five weeks or five minutes; there's something grounding about having someone there she can do that with.
#03 Soft
He's amazed by her skin and how it feels against his touch, even with the training she's had and the scars that mark her; he has a suspicion she cheats by spelling herself when he isn't around.
#04 Pain
There are times when Catty won't talk to him; her lips part but no words tumble from her like he expects them to-Sam hasn't quite figured out how to deal with her pain when she refuses to reveal it.
#05 Potatoes
He's late, and she sits all alone in her small kitchen with a dinner she can't believe she took the time to actually cook; it came as a surprise when, instead of being angry, she lobbed a spoonful of mashed potatoes right into his face and laughed.
#06 Rain
She tugs him into the pouring rain, a smile lighting up her face as she pulls him closer, and he holds her tightly as they sway in it, becoming soaked to the bone on her whim.
#07 Chocolate
The candy is pressed to his lips suddenly, and Sam stares at Catty as she waits with growing impatience for him to try it out; later she jokes that she was testing to see if they were poisoned or not-or at least he hopes that she was joking.
#08 Happiness
A grin settles on her face when she sees his giant form leaning against a wall outside of her apartment, joy spreading through her at the sight as she slowly made her way up to him; she had honestly expected him to not show up in her life again.
#09 Telephone
Catty stares at him with a quirky smile, snatching up a pen and writing her number down on his palm before kissing him again, pulling away quickly before he has the chance to rip her clothes off all over again.
#10 Ears
His teeth graze her earlobe accidentally, and she nearly melts against him anyway, a choked mewling sound emitting from the back of her throat.
#11 Name
“Catty,” Sam hisses as she inches forward, moving closer to the very thing he wants to protect her from.
#12 Sensual
She stretches her body out, arms held high over her head, and his eyes travel from fingertip to toe as she arches and gives a quiet little moan of satisfaction that makes him lick his lips; it's only when she tilts her head to look at him and wink that he realizes that little show was no accident.
#13 Death
“I might die,” Catty feels the need to warn him after they've seen each other just enough to feel comfortable to say that they were seeing each other, and Sam smiles sadly at her as he says, “I might die” in return.
#14 Sex
With a grin, she straddles his waist, fingers digging into his thick hair as she leans in for the kiss, rough and demanding even as his fingers tug at her pants; they don't make it out of the chair.
#15 Touch
She's tired, in pain, and tired of being prodded at by the doctors, eyes rolling when they ask her if this hurts or that hurts, and she has to remind herself that she can't just go around punching the Healers-Sakura would destroy her life-but when Sam looks her over, fingers pressing into her skin as he looks at her with that worried glint in his eyes, she finds that she's more at peace.
#16 Weakness
A worry worms its way into Catty, permanent and aching with the knowledge that Sam's weakness is always going to be his brother.
#17 Tears
She sits in her chair at work, hand on her face, chest tightening as she tries to will herself into something that isn't a sobbing mess anymore, wondering when it will be when the guys in her life will stop leaving her.
#18 Speed
After she leaves him the morning after, everything seems to move by more slowly than she wants it to-the irony is that she is a time witch.
#19 Wind
“That's not the wind howling out there, Catty,” Sam murmurs to her after she mentions it, his body stiffening into a defensive position, and she's thankful his back is to her so that he doesn't see the eye roll.
#20 Freedom
She lies in his lap, staring up at him quietly until he looks back down at her; the words stick in her mouth until he prods her into talking, confessing that it would be easy, wouldn't it, if they could live like that, in this sort of domestic freedom.
#21 Life
They both led such separate lives that it became hard to imagine for the people that know them that they were happy living that way, but in the moments they got to be with each other, it was clear to see.
#22 Jealousy
Stanton leaned in close to Catty, so that his lips were pressed to her temple, hands at her waist; the look on Sam's face when he found the two of them in the mostly-innocent position still thrills her.
#23 Hands
His hands are so much larger than her own, she muses, as she presses hers against his, and she marvels at how gentle they can be compared to her own.
#24 Taste
Sam tastes the alcohol on her lips as Catty presses herself against him, hands and fingers in a frenzy, and he almost feels bad when he tells her he won't have sex with her in this state.
#25 Devotion
She mumbles the words to him without thinking about it, shocked by the easy nature in which they come, finding herself mindlessly devoted-she hates how easy it all is.
#26 Forever
There is something unspoken between the two of them about how they know it can't be forever, but they can pretend.
#27 Blood
Her body goes rigid at the sight of his blood staining her hands, dark eyes wide as she stares until she can no longer keep them open, no longer can keep standing, the jolt of the fall sparking through her; she was too late to keep him unharmed.
#28 Sickness
“I don't need any damn chicken soup, old man,” she grumbles unhappily when he decides to find a can of it.
#29 Melody
Her laugh is nothing melodious-it's loud and harsh and uninhibited and teasing-but it burns through his veins because it's her sound and not anyone else's.
#30 Star
She leans against him and points up to the sky, laughing about how her mom always thought that she would take her home to the stars.
#31 Home
She doesn't really think of her apartment as home often, but when she knows that Sam is going to be there, she becomes excited to return to it and see him.
#32 Confusion
He looks at her oddly, trying to figure out what that look on her face means exactly before she wipes it off and grins brightly at him; he knows she's lying to him as she shrugs and tells him it's fine and that she'll see him later when he gets back, her words a mad jumble and in a rush.
#33 Fear
“I don't want to lose you,” she admits after he's finally worn her down.
#34 Thunder/Lightning (companion to Clouds)
The sky flashes bright, and her eyes are inevitably drawn to it, cursing the storm that threatens to fall over her and the hunt; it's all she can do to keep from turning around and seeking him out instead.
#35 Bonds
Everything about their own lives is woven together, bonded with people and experiences, and the more they share, the more they begin to weave together and create new things.
#36 Market
It's normal, she realizes, holding his hand as they walk through a street speckled with vendors of all kinds; at least, it would be normal if what they were doing was actually shopping and not hunting.
#37 Technology
They are both constantly divided by the fact that he still exists in the Muggle world while she has nearly completely invested herself in the wizarding world, having to find fun new ways of compromising to get what they want.
#38 Gift
Catty sits in his lap, holding out the small, brightly wrapped box in her hand as she leans forward and brushes her lips against his cheek; “Merry Christmas, Sam,” she whispers to him.
#39 Smile
When he smiles, she has to take a moment to drink it all in, and she is pretty sure the first time that she noticed herself doing that was the first time she realized that she was in love with him.
#40 Innocence
She has seen death and caused it, and he knows all too well that her bedroom life is not pure, but she still manages to have this aura of innocence around her, and Sam can't be sure if she really is or if he just can't shake the memory of her being his student once upon a time.
#41 Completion
She doesn't need him to feel complete (except that maybe she does), and she knows that she shouldn't feel that she needs someone for that, but without Sam, she knows something completely right would be gone-and Catty just isn't that stupid.
#42 Clouds (companion to Thunder/Lightning)
He looks up at the dark clouds rolling in, tasting the storm in the air, and he couldn't help but to think about her; it is only when Dean slaps him on the back and goes, “Let's get a move on, Sammy,” that the man pushes Catty to the side.
#43 Sky
“You're not going to find him up there,” Jaina grumbles and rolls her eyes when Catty glances at her partner and grins sheepishly, turning away from the sky.
#44 Heaven
Catty Turner does not believe in Heaven, but she will gladly let Sam try to prove it to her over and over again until they've quite forgotten their own names.
#45 Hell
Her own personal hell is the hospital, the smells and the sights and people looking in on her with pity because she's fucked up yet again; Sam stays at her bedside and continues to give her the same look they all give her, even when she curses his very existence.
#46 Sun
She's special to him, something bright and warm and beautiful that he wants to keep safe, and he knows she has always been like the sun to him, and he figures that's why he didn't move on when she left him; he couldn't.
#47 Moon
He sleeps lightly, she easily discovers, his large body curled against hers, head on her chest and fingers somehow wrapped around her moon amulet; she wants to ask him if he can feel the magic from it, too.
#48 Waves
The waves crash along the shore and wash up onto the sand, but she's watching Sam rather than the ocean, and the realization that she's brought him home to meet her mom hits her suddenly.
#49 Hair
There was a time, after the Ghost Widow incident, when she was nervous about people touching her hair; now she makes sure that his fingers curl into it, grab hold and tug until her back arches and she cries out.
#50 Supernova
They flash bright, an explosion of heat and light that swallows up everything around them until nothing remains, and then they begin to fade until nothing is left but something cold and hard and blackened; she's not romantic enough to understand it when Sam cups her face and kisses her senseless that what they have is a constantly cycling supernova.
