Title: Lead Us Along
Characters: Revan/Carth
'Verse: Knights of the Old Republic
Rating: PG-13

#01 Walking

They trek for hours over the surface of Taris, feeling run down after the ordeal of escaping in the first place only to keep going; Carth almost makes the mistake of asking the soldier if she needs a break when he sees the look in her eyes and bites down on his tongue instead.

#02 Waltz

Her body glides with the prowess of a trained fighter, her swing powerful as the sword sweeps up, catching the Sith soldier in the chest, enough to take him out of the fight but not to kills, before she spins around to the next enemy waiting to put her down.

#03 Wishes

“My name is Cara; if you call me 'beautiful' again, I'll have to permanently damage you, Carth.”

#04 Wonder

“The plan is to go ahead and rescue a Jedi who is so important to the war that she can't escape from a bunch of gang members herself,” Cara whispers to the young Twi'lek and Wookiee when Carth's back is turned.

#05 Worry

Carth is torn between watching Bastila behind the bars of her cage and the breakneck speeds his soldier is pushing as she races her way to their freedom.

#06 Whimsy

Somehow, she makes herself leader and decides that they are going to go ahead and steal themselves a ship, a smuggler's ship; she's surprised when the group agrees.

#07 Waste/Wasteland

She watches on from the windows of the Ebon Hawk as Taris is bombed, the surface destroyed because of one man, the others gathered around her as they all look on in various degrees of emotion, Carth's hand resting against her shoulder.

#08 Whiskey and rum

Cara slides into the cockpit when the others have quieted, leaning over Carth's shoulder and putting the ship on autopilot; he looks up at her until she pulls out the bottle of Tarisian ale and says, “Might as well drink it, right?”

#09 War

They lie back in their seats in drunken bliss, and Carth begins to murmur tales about the Mandalorian Wars as they fly towards Dantooine, telling Cara all about the Jedi Padawan named Zayne.

#10 Weddings

She's always been gifted with the ability to notice all the details around her, and so when they all gather in the middle of the ship to talk about meeting with the Jedi Council, she can't help but notice the glint of a ring around Carth's neck.

#11 Birthday

The Council tells her that she has the Force, that she is to be a Jedi, trained like one despite her age, and she smiles to herself and whispers to Carth that it is like being born all over again.

#12 Blessing

“You are just collecting all the broken ones in this galaxy,” he says after Juhani has been saved from the dark, and Cara shrugs, just happy that she could help.

#13 Bias

“You've got something against Jedi, Carth, don't you?”

#14 Burning

The power sears through her, and she's surprised by how good it feels underneath her skin, in her veins, as she shoves a kath hound back with only the flick of her hand.

#15 Breathing

They remain silent as the object opens up and the map is exposed to them, and she lets out a breath she'd been holding at the same time that he does, their eyes flickering briefly to each other before falling in awe of the first Star Map.

#16 Breaking

He's cracking slowly, he realizes, with each conversation they have, with each poke from her as she tries to pry him apart and study him; it's almost too unnerving to bear, but he doesn't tell her to stop.

#17 Belief

When the slavers laugh and jeer, she rests her hand on Zalbaar's furry arm, taking a step forward and issuing them a death threat, her blue lightsaber casting an ominous glow on them.

#18 Balloon

His eyes widen as one of the beasts of the Shadowlands swell up, and she tosses a casual grin at him over her shoulder at the small squeak of noise he's sure he just uttered; he hates that he finds her so attractive that it almost hurts in that moment.

#19 Balcony

The bridge overlooks the trees, and it's here that Carth finds her alone after they've freed the Wookiees from Czerka, a look of deep contemplation on her face as she stares down; he prepares to walk away, to live her to her thoughts, when she calls out his name in a soft breath.

#20 Bane

“Revan has taken everything from me, Cara,” he spits out, the venom in his words hitting her in ways that she can't even understand except to know that it bothers her greatly enough for her to say, “You have to stop living in the past before it consumes you.”

#21 Quiet

The Ebon Hawk doesn't know the meaning of silence, every one of its passengers clamoring to be heard over the other, and Cara sits back to watch them, learning how each of them work, thought it's always Carth that she watches the most.

#22 Quirks

The desert sun beats down hot on them as they trek across it, Bastila in the lead while the droid HK-47 marches at their heels; Cara glances at Carth and smiles to gain his attention before she tells him, “You have a nonverbal stutter, too.”

#23 Question

“Do you always ask everyone all these questions, or am I just really special?”

#24 Quarrel

Carth slams his hand into the hull of the ship, his fury whipping at her with ease, and she stands against it with quiet rage as she tells him that if he didn't act like such a child, he would have heard her say that since Korriban is one of the planets with a map, they will go.

#25 Quitting

He tells her he's sorry for losing his temper, and she tells him that she needs to heal his broken hand, and yes, she knows it's broken.

#26 Jump

The Republic ambassador says jump, and Carth asks how high; Cara just grumbles and goes to do the tasks handed to her.

#27 Jester

The joke's on her when she ends up on trial, Carth's hand on her arm as he leans close enough to whisper to her, “I hate to remind you exactly what's at stake here...”

#28 Jousting

She matches Malak's apprentices thrusts with each of her own, parrying him until he's on his knees, and she shows him no mercy because part of her says that this is the way of things; there's something different about the way Carth looks at her now.

#29 Jewel

“It's the Leviathan,” Carth whispers as the Ebon Hawk is caught, and Cara slips her hand into his when the others look away, feeling his pain as her own-and his need for revenge.

#30 Just

She has to close her eyes against his screams-because she can't close her ears and pretend that what is happening is a lie-and so she tells them what she wants them to know, hating their sacrifice for secrecy.

#31 Smirk

Before Karath dies, there is a smirk on his lips that Cara doesn't like, a shift in the Force that emanates from Carth.

#32 Sorrow

The memories overwhelm her, and she mourns everything from her actions as a Sith Lord to the loss of who she once was.

#33 Stupidity

What they had been building between each other feels almost lost, but he volunteers to still stand at her side as they descend onto Korriban; she doesn't pretend that it's for her because she knows it's for Dustil.

#34 Serenade

The voices in the tombs call out to her, but rather than feel an attraction to them, she feels disconnected; the look on Carth's face tells her that he doesn't believe that.

#35 Sarcasm

“He's a ray of sunshine, just like you,” Revan says, and Carth cracks the first smile she's seen in days.

#36 Sordid

She cups his face, backing him against the chair as his fingers dig into her hips, looking up at him from beneath her lashes until she feels his hands slide in under her shirt and along her back-they remain like this until he pushes her away.

#37 Soliloquy

“Kriffing woman, thinking that she can just come in here and act like she knows exactly how I feel about her, making me want her like this-how is a man supposed to save the galaxy around here?”

#38 Sojourn

Carth rubs the back of his neck, giving her a look of exasperation as he delivers the news that they might as well get comfortable on this place until they can find the appropriate piece to fix the ship and disable the disruptor field.

A look passes between them when she makes the decision to support the Elders, and he nods ever so slightly to let her know that it's okay.

#40 Solitary

He doesn't like it when they tell her that she must go into the Temple alone-he doesn't care if she is Revan, he just doesn't like it!-and he is relieved when Juhani and Jolee follow her inside anyway.

#41 Nowhere

It's taken him too long, but when he sees her running up behind the other Jedi, he doesn't care that it's too sudden when he grabs her up and crushes her to his body, her lips finding his at the same moment-she came back, she rejected the dark side, she chose him.

#42 Neutral

The Star Forge awaits them now, and she knows to get through this, she must not let what she feels lead her astray.

#43 Nuance

Gradually, she grows calmer despite Malak's words, focusing herself on Carth, on the people who believe in her, on the galaxy, and the flow of her Force as she fights reflects this.

#44 Near

He holds her close, and she breathes him in, content that it is over and that she can live a life with the man she has fallen in love with.

#45 Natural

He calls her name, but she doesn't respond; he says it again, and finally she looks up at him in surprise, a smirk on her lips as she tells him that she wants to be called Revan.

#46 Horizon

He doesn't understand what's happening in her mind as she stares out, lost in her thoughts while he stands idly by, knowing in his gut that he's losing her.

#47 Valiant

It's as though she is going through a great effort to be with him, Carth finally realizes, and he doesn't know if that makes him love her more or wish she would stop torturing the both of them.

#48 Virtuous

There's nothing soft about the way she slides her hands over his body, nothing clean or pure as their movements greatly resemble a battle of dominance.

#49 Victory

She wins, again and again, and he nearly suffocates under the pressure of her power; Revan purrs against him when it's over, soothing him with words and caresses until he isn't even sure who either of them is anymore.

#50 Defeat

They don't cry when she kisses him a final time, and they don't say good-bye as she issues her orders to them all, but he is fine with it because it's Revan; he's always known that she would break him in just the right places.
