Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night! - All about Eve
Bela let her gaze travel around the room and on the revelers below her. She was dressed for sex and her mask was firmly in place. She'd been working on the scam for almost four months and it was finally going to be paying off. The Spear of Destiny was going to be hers. Well, technically the Spear was going to be General Abbingdon's since he was the one paying her to steal it.
A satisfied 'cat with a canary' smile teased the edges of her lips, as her fingers wrapped around the champagne flute. It was one of the perks of her job that most of them happened within the elite of society. It was also a very nice weapon to use against pompous asses, which luckily for her the mark was a pompous ass that liked the elite.
He was easy, all it had taken was a little T&A and she'd received an invitation to see his 'private collection'. That was the only confirmation that she'd had needed that the Spear was in his possession. After that, it had been four months cultivating the 'arm candy' trophy for him.
"Ready?" James Kenyon asked Bela as he slipped his hand to the small of her back.
"Wouldn't miss it." She nodded her head then stepped back from the small balcony overlooking the gathering below. The mass of celebrants were going to be her cover and the many eye witnesses would be her alibi. God, she loved this.
They descended the stairs, the pompous ass and the arm candy, but who would leave the party would be the master thief and the Spear. Bela's footsteps paused momentarily on the bottom step, however, when she noticed an agent of Interpol enter Kenyon's party. The game just got a lot more interesting, and Bela's lips curled into a 'cat with a canary' smile once again.
