Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I have two dogs, Silky and Spike, and one (really cranky) cat, Batsu. For as long as I've had these three, Batsus' been my baby, Spikes the 'old man', and Silky's the annoying puppy who I never really cared for.

There must be some alternative to death. I had two wonderful cats who I could not break of the same habit, so I found them a new home with my neighbors across the street. Hopefully the change in environment -- a regular family with two little girls, instead of just me -- also changed their behaviour. My neighbors never tried to bring them back, so I can only assume it went well.

I think it's worth the money to put a notice in the newspaper of a puppy for free adoption rather than have blood on one's conscience. Surely someone will take him in.
