Doth mine eyes deceive me?

Potter and Malfoy?

I want to know what this 'source' was huffing when they thought that one up!

I'd like to give Skeeter something to huff. Something poisonous that is.

And how is my favorite Patil twin doing today?

There ARE gases that can be pumped into a room that cause almost instant asphyxiation. But I'm sure you're just venting and don't really want details. Right?

Highly amused. Thankful for a weekend off. Relaxing with the Brontes and a cup of hot chive tea.

You?

Not a bad idea, actually. You're dead devious, you know. I like that.

Just the usual. Wishing I could disappear. Entertaining homicidal thoughts.

Having a lovely time of it, too.

I do try. Usually when I don't mean to.

Sounds lovely. Just don't go on your killing spree until after the holidays. No reason to ruin everyone's sugar high.

It's bad that the thing I'm most upset with over this is the fact that Harry's forbidden me to tease him about it, isn't it?

The things that woman comes up with...

He's forbid you to tease him over it? But you're his best friend. That's what you do!

Skeeter's just not right in the head. It's probably that dye she used to get her hair that color. It's seeped past the roots and into her brain.

I know! He'd threatened torture by insane screaming portrait.

You're probably right. Well, you're definitely right about the not right in the head bit. She gets paid well enough for it, though. Good to see there's a place in our society for dye-poisoned minds.

One that silencing spells don't work on, I'm guessing? Still not fair. It's such a teasable topic. I guess he's sick of being a good sport about everything...

It's a shame it's in the public media. She should be in St. Mungo's. Lock her in the Lockhart. It would serve her right. He can sign her a ton of autographs, and she can conduct an endless interview.

Guh, it's absolute rubbish!

How are you, Padma? Seems like for ever since we've spoken!

Naturally. When it something Skeeter writes not?

It has been. I'm doing pretty good. Moved out. In the Trainee program for Cursebreakers. Been trying to get out more. Met someone nice, got reacquainted with others.

You?

Thank you, Padma, for not being one of those 'kernel of truth' people.

It's utter rubbish, something that would only 'ring true' with giggly pre-pubescent teenage girls.

And anyone who would criticize Malfoy for abandoning his parents and use the phrase 'defector to the side of Light' like it's a dirty word needs their head examined. Of course, Skeeter has always needed her head examined.

Other than this, you doing ok? I could always talk with Parvati about developing you some kind of semi-permanent glamour so you can go out without being harassed.

I'm alright...or at least I was until all this. Now, I'm glued to this journal answering to people who think it's true or who think it's an open invitation to make fun of me or Malfoy. Really, it's been grand.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass. As tempting as it is, I think I'd be too tempted to end up hate being myself. I've got enough reasons to do that on my own. No, it's the rest of the mental world that has the problem, not me. Or so I hope.

It'll blow over, Harry. Just give it a couple of days.

And yes, of course it's the rest of the world. If you ever need a cuppa, come on over. The apartment building on Shelton Street in London. It's not hard to miss. Just ask the doorman for the 'nice Hindu girl' [the man can't remember my name, I swear] it's a muggle building. No worry about being recognized.

I'm there any time after six during the week, and usually all day on weekends. [I don't get out much]
