An Evening Out

Circe save me! What was I thinking?! I kissed him. I kissed him! On the cheek, but bloody hell, that's still a kiss! It was an impulse. I've never been so impulsive before. Calm down, Padma. Breathe. Breathe. I need to talk to Parvati. She's the one that knows about boys, not me. She's the one that knows how to make a -- Oh, Merlin -- relationship work. At least, she knows better than I do.

This evening went well, better than I had thought it might. The movie was enjoyable even if it was horribly inaccurate, according to both muggle and wizarding history, and he didn't laugh at me for being so squeamish. He didn't laugh at me when I asked him to the Order of Merlin presentation, either. He actually said yes!

Oh, jeez. I just giggled. Bad Padma. No giggling like a giddy school girl. You're a dignified, intelligent woman. And you will not giggle like a silly little girl just because this will probably be the first formal event you've ever attended that you won't be wishing you had brought a book with you within the first fifteen minutes.

I'm going to have to check my wardrobe to see if I have any robes that are decent enough. Or...no, I know. I'll just write Mum to see if she can send me something. Most of my formal things are back at the estate anyway. She'll pick something out that will work.
