Wait a minute. The auction.... We're the items?! I thought we were just presenting!

Quite a shock, isn't it?

I didn't know either. But we can't back out, can we? And it is for charity. And you'll finally have a date to take your mind off of what's-his-face.

And that's the trap. It's for charity. We'll look like horrible people if we do pull out. Damn Witch Weekly. I should have known better.

We'll just have to suffer through it, I suppose.

I'm not too worried. Unless I get some horrid looking man. Then I'll be worried.

You're not worried? You're not upset? You don't care that we're being sold to the highest bidder like cattle?

Why am I not surprised?

There's a charity auction for Witch Weekly that I agreed to help with. In the letter that was sent out, they made it sound like we were presenting items. However, I saw a flyer today on my way back from work that said we were the items.

It's a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction.

Might as well have been. They're selling us to the highest bidder.

Let me guess - you signed something like the kind-hearted soul you are, and discovered yourself to be entrapped by a magically binding contract?

Did you not think to check the contract for magic before you signed it? Are you not a Witch?

I think you have absolutely no room to cry foul here, Miss Patil.

Then again, it is for charity. Many women sell themselves for far less noble reasons.

And as far as I could tell, there was no contract. Just a letter and form asking for our names and a date that we could attend.

With all due respect, sir, I don't care what you think.

I think it's GREAT, Padma! I bought my ticket right away. I'll be there cheering for you, and Par of course!

I don't understand what is so great about being offered up like a piece of meat to the guy that has the most pocket money. If Theo hadn't--
