Actually, what it probably is is a mix of the best nutrition we've ever known--->larger people, really deeply fucked up standards (as I am a size 12 and considered too disgusting ot bear children, wear decent clothes, or receive medical care), and these fucked up standards leading to almost everyone either having had dieted or dieting constantly, which has never ever led to permanent weight loss in any population but has led to permanent weight gain in just about every population.
So, literally, fat hate is making us fatter.
