After speaking with Sam at the church, Laura made her way back home and found herself not quite as lost in her thoughts as she had been before. Walking inside, she'd already sent a message to Juliet asking her to please watch Laila for the night, which the other woman accepted

"We are in here." Joslire answered from the nursery where he was finishing up changing Laila's diaper, and pulling her little pants back up.

"Did you have a nice walk?"

"Mommy's home," he said in an aside to Laila.

As soon as Laura entered the nursery, Laila's arms started waving and every possible babble she could come up with came out of her mouth.

Smiling widely, Laura moved to Joslire's side and kissed him, lingering a moment before leaning down to bump heads gently with Laila. "I did have a nice walk, and I stopped to talk to Sam," she said before straightening back up.

"I learned a few things about myself today, and I think it's going to help with...everything."

"And what did you learn?" The relief in his tone was subtle, but definitely there. The not wanting to pry, but concerned husband role was a stressful one.

"A lot," she said with a soft smile. "Enough to ask Juliet if she'd babysit for us tonight so that we can have a few hours with each other uninterrupted."
