Here's what I'm trying to figure out... Justin is after Scudder in order to kill him and become the usher. After Scudder released the name of Ben's "opposite", Management wanted to kill him. I guess I had just assumed one side wanted to kill him while the other wanted to protect him. Hell, maybe Ben will come to find out HE has to kill Scudder. Or maybe Management finding out his son was the enemy was enough to turn him to the other side
( ... )
Hell YEAH! Well my best guess is that management was trying to kill or thought Alexi (Justin) was dead. But, I'm a firm believer in the powers being shifted across generations to the opposite sides. I believe Management to be good and Scudder to be bad, but, Scudder, running from his darkness might not be a threat so to speak.
Ben did live up to his word about protecting him, and I guess that with Scudder and Ben rolling around together, and Management transferring his powers to Ben so that he could keep Justin from killing Scudder, cause I think that management KNEW Ben wouldn't kill him (management) because he's too nice, but, if Management made his move then Ben would be forced to.
What powers he had? I bet we will find out soon enough. Damn, if Ben was that good without the 'gift' imagine what he is like now!
Further evidence that Management is light to Scudder's Dark...thespiceFebruary 27 2005, 03:43:03 UTC
I find it really interesting that when Ben wanted to heal Management, Management - though tempted - refused. After seeing what happened when Ben healed Scudder (without Scudder protesting), it seems to me that Management was well aware of what it would have taken to heal him. Scudder's face was superficially scarred up. But Management's body has been ravaged. I can only speculate what kind of death toll there would have been if Ben had laid his hands on Management's. And I think Management refused Ben's help becuase of the lives that would be lost

You are correct all the way down the line! I think, as far as the sofie thing, is that what if she was raped by the 'former' usher before Scudder came along? I mean, think about that whole 'running from his destiny', maybe it was that he was running from Management, who was fully realized by killing his predicessor, and Scudder, who just ran instead of seeking out, powerless to stop management awaits his death and his escape, but, management is taken down by the bear of Lodz. Scudder returns home, runs from the treeman in the corn fields and shit, treeman rapes Sofie in pursuit of scudder thus throwing a third party into the mix?
I will have to chew on this third party possibility somemore. It is interesting that we haven't seen the Season 1 Usher representation much this season, except in scenes with Sofie. Oooh.
Oh, and one more thing that supports Management being good.thespiceFebruary 27 2005, 03:45:33 UTC
He's quietly pursuing his enemy. He's not been trying to spread around his power. Granted, that could be because of his injury, but as stated by others, even in his state his hugely dangerous and capable of great magic with just his mind (moving things, disappearing). He doesn't seem to use his powers for ill.
Also, I think it's interesting that Scudder took away Lodz's sight and Management returned it, even though Management then put Lodz in a position to be killed. But I wonder if Management knew what would happen to Ruthie if she was returned to life after being dead for so long. Again, maybe all part of his plan.
Man, I love this show.thespiceFebruary 28 2005, 03:03:40 UTC
And, also, I like being right for a change. Heh.
Also the first time I've gotten weepy on this show in a good long while. The tragedy with the ferris wheel, and Ben's scene with the mom and son, really got to me, as did Samson's reaction.
Woo-hoo return of the Baggage Trailer. And Ben's newfound strength.
So, if Justin kills Scudder, will that give him his boon?

Spice. You fucked me. I mean, all your great theories and then a prompt 10:03 post (cause I thought you were on the west coast and not watching until 12pm EST) I was shocked. The eps are fucking with my brain. I will post full on conclusions to all your stuff...I think we need to make it a new post/thread since it's carrying forward and shit.

I though maybe you were watching the Oscars.
I've been sick all weekend (mildly so) and no full blown so and *still* at work, albeit it easing into my day with a little e-mail slackage.
Can't wait to read your thoughts.
