I really wish you could buy antibiotics over the counter or behind the counter with ID like with Sudafed.  Seems like I've caught my yearly sinus infection.  This explains why I've had a recurring cold for the past few months.  The thing is, I'm in the middle of a work emergency right now and the earliest I can forsee being able to go to the doctor ( Read more... )

This is true, I should honestly look into this. It's not like I'm avoiding the doctor or anything, it's just pointless when it's such a trivial thing. People who are prone to sinus infections pretty much know when they have them. The second your ears go wacky, even if you feel fine otherwise, you know you're getting one.

Do you have a family doctor? I have been going to mine since - well, my mom has been seeing him since high school so since before I was born! I can usually call and talk to one of the staff, tell them my symptoms and they will call a prescription in to the pharmacy. They don't like doing this often but if I explain I can't make it in for a week and it is something like a yearly sinus infection they will do it. Maybe you could call your doctor and see if they would do the same for you.

No, I don't have a doctor anymore unfortunately. For the past few years I've just used clinics when I've needed them. I'm actually in the process of trying to find recommendations for a good local doctor that takes my insurance. I need to go get physical and everything and prepare for the onset of middle age in the next few years. Bleh.

I have a whole bottle of antibiotics if you want some. my dr just writes me what ever script I ask for.
