I was tagged by firebird5 to complete this meme, but I decided to post it here, rather than my personal journal as not to offend any H/G shippers on my friends list.

I would fill this out myself, but you covered so much of what I hate about H/G.

Plus, I love that you quoted Dick Button. =)

Good list, for me it's mostly point 3.
But please don't: but I can only hope that she limits such shallow values to her fictional writing and doesn't carry them over into real life or her children.

She is writing a story. She tries to be true to fictional characters, whom she writes as she imagines them, not as perfect people should be like.
Most people feel inadequate when they don't have sexual experiences. Someone like Ron sure would. It's just realistic. She doesn't have to create a perfect world.

I was very annoyed that Ginny had to become the most popular girl in school to be "worthy" of Harry too. It's annoying, but it doesn't destroy the souls of innocent children or proves that JKR is the antichrist after all.
I hope her values do not revolve around the question whom her children will be snogging at 16.

It's one thing for someone to feel inadequate because (s)he is inexperienced. It's another thing to imply or say that someone is inadequate, and that was the impression I got from HBP and The Interview, that JKR considered Ron to be less mature than his sister and friends and not "worthy" to be Hermione's love interest until he met some kissing/sexual quota. I find it perfectly realistic but not a bit mature to use someone and then heartlessly toss them aside once you have gotten what you wanted, quite the opposite. Judging by the way Ron/Lavender, and maybe even Ginny/BoyfriendsBeforeHarry was written, JKR thinks differently.

I usually ignore the bimbos who say you're nothing if you've never kissed anyone, but it's harder to ignore them when they're everywhere.

Wow... I adore that list...

What got me is the "suddenly Ginny" aspect of it. Because she was living scenery in books 2-4 (Argus Filch had more bleedin' lines than she did!) I feel like I'm stuck in a state of arrested development with her. I tried so hard, but I just can't seem to see her as older than a first year.

I don't mind the idea of Jimmy Weasley... perhaps If I read it like that, it'll be more tolerable.

héhéhé ^^

I love the reason n°2, that so true (or right ?? I'm not sure of my english, sorry ^^) . Harry and Ginny, the "Kelly and Dylan" of Hogward ! So beautiful, smart and popular... That's nauseating.

And I really love this 2 characters, but simply not together. Too "cliché", even for a teenage romance.

Au revoir !
