The fluorescent lights here buzz loudly when they are on. Of course there are set hours for lights out in inmates' cells, but the fluorescents in the hallway are always kept on due to necessity. The 26th, hm...? That's quite a busy time of year. Have you arranged for someone to pick you up? It would be a cruel holiday to be released from prison only to spend the day alone.

Even though she won't be able to pick me up from the penitentiary, Ema may be home by the 26th. I dislike the thought of her spending time alone at home or taking a plane by herself on Christmas night, however... so I will be asking her to delay her flight.

If you have no other offers, it wouldn't be that far out of my way. Someone, at least, ought to be there to "welcome you back to society", so it were. I know I appreciated the gesture after my release from detention.
