Pirates = WAY.  LAME.

I was disappointed. ='(

The actors were amazing, but the movie was bad.  Ugh!  Plot inconsistencies, undeveloped storylines (that would've been SO GOOD if they had actually made them important), unresolved storylines (uh...like the MAIN CONFLICT?), most of the movie was exposition that never really served a purpose (boring--didn ( Read more... )

wow! haha

it wasn't that bad Katie...lol...

I thought it was pretty good...but at the same time it was drawn-out. It could have been shorter. There was also a LOT going on...which they could have tried to explain in more detail what was going on. I was kinda lost at some points.

idk...i think its one of those movies you have to watch 2 times to understand it fully...so its one of those movies that you either really like or don't. So its a hit or miss kinda deal. But for the most part i enjoyed it. but your right...it didn't really suck me in until the last hour or hour and a half.

I am probably in the minority, but I don't think anything can compare with The Curse of the Black Pearl. It may not have had quite as much action as Dead Man's Chest, but the characters were developed well and they each had specific roles to make them stand out. Geoffrey Rush is a wonderful actor, along with our other favorite charismatic pirate. Even though Orlando Bloom was a whimp in both movies, luckily Johnny Depp was able to salvage what was lost there.

Basically, Tia Dalma ruined DMC for me because I could not understand what the heck she was saying until I rented the movie and put the captions on. It was very frustrating to watch it and understand every other third word, at best! After I put the captions on, it bumped DMC up a little bit on my list.

Hopefully AWE will be worth it, but I'll be seeing it once the crowds die down. Sometimes movies improve after seeing them a second time. Hope everything is going well Katie!

Oh yeah, I totally agree...Curse of the Black Pearl was by far the best.

I thought DMC was still pretty good, but I think this is where they started emphasizing the fighting more than making the story make sense.

I may see AWE again when it's on DVD...definitely not going to see it again in theaters! lol.

*raises hand* I didn't see unresolved conflict...What was the part of the storyline that was left open? They needed to save Jack and kill Davy Jones and Cutler Beckett. They did all three....I'm confused...Hit me up on AIM later...I wanna see if I missed something REALLY important...Seriously.

Thanks!
