I've returned, and triumphed over jet-lag (which took days, ugh). I'm scrambling to organize my living space and prepare for ICFA and deal with things that have happened in my absence, so it'll be a while until I manage to upload some pics and write some travel narratives ( Read more... )

Not a whole lot that I wrote about here. I did meet some cool hooper folk and did get two hoops and I can now actually do it!!! That's pretty neat. :-) I may go to a thing called Play in the Park here which is hoopers, jugglers, poi-ers, unicyclers, whatever-ers meeting in the warmth of Georgia's breezes to hang and do their thang. That's where I got the hoops and the groove last time.

I'm so happy to hear that you linked up with some hoopers! They're generally fun folks to hang out with, and helpful if you're trying to learn the basics.

I just got home from my first hoop-jam since India, and I had a blast, though it wore me out, too! :)

Welcome back to permanent Internet connectivity :) Quite an impressive picture -- the largest Buddhist temple I've been to is Candi Borobudur, in central Java, and the stupa looks subjectively much smaller than this massive heap.

(It's Michel, from my new LJ account -- deleted 'salimma' because I was not using much, and felt worried by the site being owned by a Russian company, but it seems that Russian dissenters post freely here, and LJ's support for OpenID so I can use my credentials from other sites is rather rudimentary and awkward to use. Please re-add).
