There was supposedly a study done, though, that said that people who use Facebook are more depressed than their offline counterparts. I think it has a lot to do with how Facebook isn't totally private, so you can get information about people, like your exes. I remember having to take a break from Facebook for a while, sometime last year, because I swear it had this vendetta against me and enjoyed showing me pictures of my most recent ex with his girlfriend at the time. The time offline helped me to better deal with my negative feelings.

Plus, you get so disconnected from the world and there's so much hate on the internet. I get really grumpy and hate people if I spend too much time on the internet. I lose touch with my feelings and everything else, it's terrible.
