You ever spend a couple days off the internet (I mean completely off) and realize that you're a much happier person for it? I think, a lot of the time, the internet is great. I TOTALLY feel happier offline than I do online. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that, within the past two years, a lot of drama has stirred up into my life. Even then.

There was supposedly a study done, though, that said that people who use Facebook are more depressed than their offline counterparts. I think it has a lot to do with how Facebook isn't totally private, so you can get information about people, like your exes. I remember having to take a break from Facebook for a while, sometime last year, because I swear it had this vendetta against me and enjoyed showing me pictures of my most recent ex with his girlfriend at the time. The time offline helped me to better deal with my negative feelings.

I'm glad I'm not alone! I think it's kind of like when you don't get your way instead of working towards something or getting over it, you just pout. Only, maybe some people use the internet to cope with their loneliness but it only makes it more real and apparent.

Plus, you get so disconnected from the world and there's so much hate on the internet. I get really grumpy and hate people if I spend too much time on the internet. I lose touch with my feelings and everything else, it's terrible.

I definitely see what you mean, and I think that's a lovely goal to have for the coming year. :)
