 I have this incredibly horrendous, shellacked, 18x14 canvas "art" lurking in my living room these days.   It was pilfered from the 3rd floor two inhabitants ago and until now I've had it hanging curiously backwards--the frame and unpainted backside showing.  Tomorrow I'll be restoring it to something that at least has the potential to 'face the ( Read more... )

Please forgive me for not going back and listening to the whole speech. But do you think that the "much" of which Mitch McConnell is ability (OMGZ socialism), or responsibility? I've heard quite a bit about *some people in power* not living up to expectations - expectations of them fulfilling their responsibilities.

"before his constituents get frothy" = an elegant description that both gets the point across and paints a funny picture in my mind.

I think even Mitch would have a hard time clarifying what their speech writers intended with that line. The speech, as a whole, was quite impressive from the standpoint of containing so many words, poorly defined,* and assembled in such a way as to avoid conveying any clear position or intent.
