I've started and deleted about 10 different replies. These people make me angry and sad. Imagine if they directed some of that energy towards something positive...instead of being on a self-righteous mission to point out what they perceive as damning faults in others.
See, my problem is that this passes as NEWS here in this town. These are the results of investigative reporting by "the professionals" while it falls on the amateurs to report other things that actually make a difference.
Oh, I hear what you're saying. I spent three of the last four years living in a small town in Stearns County, MN - full of people not not only elected but RE-elected Michele Bachmann.
One of the women I was on the park board with was a columnist for the local fishwrap. Each of her columns (on the daily happenings of Cold Spring, MN) included at least three inches of text on the evils of abortion. We got along well as volunteer colleagues, until one day I mentioned that I had volunteered as an escort at Planned Parenthood. She was civil to me after that...mostly sad. Sometimes I'd find her looking at me with glistening eyes, probably about to spill over with tears for my poor tainted soul.
So, she got the column every week. I wish I'd had a column. Actually, I really wish I'd pursued it.
