[ Klavier is quiet. ]
... You shouldn't be surprised, but does it hurt any less? I doubt it.
[ After a moment, he speaks with more firmness and less uncertainty. ] ... I'm investigating the disappearances; I'm a prosecutor. And you sound like you could use someone to talk to, anyway--mind telling me who's left us this time?

[ As they'd been introduced, he knows the man. ]
... The barista.
[ He's quiet. Klavier will remain in his default position of seeming unaffected and authoritative, if only for Alice?'s sake. ]
... By the way, are you somewhere safe? If you don't have someone you trust around you at this point, you should remedy this. Someone's tried to take your life once before; it might happen again. And I can't let that happen... it would be a perfectly good waste of a second chance.
I'll be frank: people have been disappearing on and off for months. I can only think of one person who had a reason or supposedly 'returned,' the current theory is that they return home. Like I've told Fräulein Vermillion, as soon as I have information to prove or disprove this, I'll let you know.
[ And another pause. ] ... Try to calm down. I doubt you want to talk to anyone right now, but... if there's anything I can do, let me know, ja?

[In his state of mind, it is information overload. His mind is regrettably blank, and he can only continue to stare off into space as the prosecutor talks. Some of it does get through to him, but...it merely compounds what he already knew. Mr. H won't be coming back.
It hurts.
And he still doesn't understand why Klavier is even speaking to him.
It takes him a few moments to realize that Klavier asked him a question.]
Oh...Yeah. Alright.
[His voice is utterly dull; he is agreeing just to agree. Just to end this conversation more quickly.]
[Juri's voice...it's familiar, but he hardly wants her to see him like this. So he doesn't move to pick up the SFC, simply continuing to look off into space.]
...I am loving the irony in that statement with your commentprotagonizedSeptember 21 2010, 21:33:03 UTC
[...He doesn't want to speak with you. The Queen's voice is far too familiar to dismiss, but he will damn well try, because he is devastated right now, and he knows he won't be able to stand the Queen's mockery this time.
So he does not move. He does not move to pick up the device even to turn it off--he just sits there, unmoving, face turned away from the SFC.]

...Mr. H is gone.
[A breath; he's trying so hard to keep it together.]

But it hurts so much more than when the Hatter disappeared. Than the fact that Cheshire seems to be gone too.
This is Mr. H--
And he's gone.]
...What do you want?
[He still doesn't turn to look, staring at the wall, away from the SFC.]
