Thinking about Sheik a bit today. Wondering exactly what that thing s/he wears on her/his face/head is called.

A Tagelmust? A cheche?

I wonder why s/he even wears it. If Zelda was good enough at magic to change her eye color from blue to red and to make her entire body look like a boy, you'd think she would be able to make her lower face look male as ( Read more... )

XD cowl... that reminds me of Batman, though. XDD;;;

But, in my mind it would just make Ganondorf that much more suspicious of her. Like meeting a ninja, you can't help but be intrigued by people with their faces covered. It's counterintuitive to think "I'm covering my face, don't even dare think about being curious about my face, because I'll never show you for SUSPICIOUS REASONS" will fool anybody. It would be better to just try to act as normal as possible.

I thinnnnk that this might be the reason. She just didn't think it through and was seduced by the mystery of wearing a mask.

Well, what with the whole lack of water/everything started to dry up, maybe it got dusty, and the lower face covering is because she travels in dust storms a lot? That's why some cultures do it, I believe... so they can breathe in dust storms.

Ahahahhadhah, thanks so much! I was really... like, not getting it. Those Sheikah confuse me with their shadow magic and their choice in clothing.

So what reason do they wear masks at all, in your opinion? Er, other than to look like a ninja?
