Looks like all the crowds from this past weekend haven't subsided yet. I've been fighting my way through people all day, the streets are packed full, and it seems like everyone's yelling. Is it really going to be like this all the way through until the end of next month? I don't know if I can handle another whole month of this

[ Annie last remembers Finnick promising her to come back, because he would never promise her anything else -- and his promises have made themselves into a truth she clasps onto with both hands. When she wakes up in the water it's not as startling as it should be; but Annie knows the water better than she knows most things, better than she ever knew a lot of things. Still, this isn't the kind of water she expects it to be and she wonders if she is dreaming, surrounded by city lights and foreign everything that mimics the Capitol but bears none of the oppression because it's alien. She has reached the point where even the unknown is less frightening, but everything is a little frightening.

Standing up as quietly as she might, she looks around and startles as a black box falls, seemingly from a pocket in her dress, but she has never seen it.

That voice though...

Finnick.

Her heart flings itself out toward the sound of him and she finds her own voice somewhere in the pathway. ]

Finnick...

I saw a girl deck a guy over a scarf the other day. It was a really ugly scarf, too.

[If he were chewing gum, he'd have just swallowed it right now. As it is, there's something incredibly familiar here--and perhaps he'd place it, if the voice were about fifty years older. As it is, she's right; the accent is unmistakable.]

I'm surprised you can pick it out. Most people around here can't.
