hot hot hot recs from the rs_games, team AU!

So I've never done this before, but here are some stories I want to rec (haha, just realized this is probably short for 'recommend') from the games so far for our wonderful Team AU.

What is it this year with everyone writing non-magical AUs? Despite the fact that this theme was overused, I really liked this story for the sheltered life Remus has lived. The best part is by far the way Remus is written as just always accepting what comes his way, as though it is all he deserves, until Sirius comes around. The writing is a little bit forced and all the action (including Remus's newly found confidence) happen within the span of 24 hours, but it is still an enjoyable read.

I wanted to be very critical of this fic (as did many other readers who were a bit skeptical of the whole 'The Last Airbender' thing, if you read the comments), but I enjoyed it. It seems the biggest problem with this fic is getting past that initial knee-jerk reaction to be wary of something that was inspired by what is essentially a children's show, but I think the writer meant it more as an inspiration to use Elements in the story, rather than anything from the show itself.

Honestly, I loved this fic. It's one of my favourites from the Games so far. I think it's because it is from Harry's point of view and not from either Remus or Sirius, or any of the others we are used to in this fandom, like James, Lily or Peter. It doesn't dwell on details but mentions them in passing, which gives it that 'oh it's no big deal but it kind of is' feel. It is a insightful moment in their lives as a family- clearly AU for the fact that Harry has lived with them for years and that Remus and Sirius both have jobs - but also in their relationship. If I could vote, this would be the only fic to get full marks from me, I think, as there is very little room for improvement with this one.
Anyway, that's all I really have to say! Hopefully we can get one more rec for Watching You and Going on Fifteen, as they will then be sent off to the daily_snitch!
