I've been there and I'm sorry you're having to go through such suckage. Especially when it's self-inflicted....ughhh it eats me up inside just remembering!! I had never wished to go back in time more. I could have changed things so easily!!
But, you're right! You will grow immensely through these trials and be a better person afterwards because of all you've learned.
