TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY!

It's also pretty rude to pick a fight with the birthday boy, y'know. Not to mention going out of your way to tell somebody happy birthday and then trying to weasel your way out of getting them a present, even after they've given you a very generous and understanding extension.
