pervo mcbeardyhead, starcraft 2, and the turdformers

I've got an I-Mockery piece up about Ugly DVD Covers, which I've received some good feedback on. The most amusing thing of all is that someone posted the link to the View Askew message boards, and Kevin Smith responded to my comments about the Jersey Girl cover. Also, the Kevin nickname "Pervo McBeardyhead" really seems to have caught on with some ( Read more... )

I know how you feel about the Transformers film- it's out soon here too and.. Michael Bay? Can the morbid curiosity really be enough to overcome that?

On the party note.. there might be some helpful ideas here and on Ask generally. Congratulations (horribly advanced ones)!

Yeah, the morbid curiosity really IS enough to overcome Michael Bay. I know the movie is going to suck, but I want to see for myself just HOW badly. I watch bad movies all the time. :P

And thanks for the suggestion!

I say all that now but I'll probably go along just for the eye-sporky pleasure of it. I'm already preparing the packaging in which the punch-in-the-balls will go..

Wish I could be there for your birthday holmes, but I'll see you soon enough when you head out here. Anyway, for your birthday, you should get a big group of people together, rent a van and get outta town for a day or two. Even if it's some place not too far away like Philly or wherever.

Personally, I think you should go to Pigeon Forge, TN with a big group of people. That place has tons of shit to do, it's absolutely hilarious and insane and I guarantee you won't get bored there... from indoor skydiving and lasertag to Dollywood, there's just a lot to be seen. Also, it's right near Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains - both of which look awesome and should be seen by all. There's a lot of cool Ripley's attractions there including a huge aquarium.

Hrmm...that's not a bad idea, but I doubt I could actually get many people to go. Lots of people around here are kinda tight on the money right now, and many of them are people I'd like to include in helping me celebrate my birthday.

But that's a good idea for some other weekend sometime, definitely.

Well renting a van costs like a whopping 50-100 bux a day at most. And you could easily go out of town just for the day and your friends could still go.

Listen bub, it's *YOUR* birthday and *I* am gonna tell you how to spend it!

I do have to admit, I like the bulkier looking Optimus Prime. And what the hell is up with the movie and current cartoons showing Optimus Prime's... lips? HE NEVER HAD LIPS! HE'S A BADASS WHO WEARS A MASK!

Bleh.

And yeah, Michael Bay doesn't exactly scream "Fun and intelligent film".

I just hate that they fucked up the semi and didn't have the classic oldschool look. I don't care if the size and mass don't quite match up between forms, but apparently it's a big deal. The orange flames are just retarded...he just looks like a giant robot redneck to me.

And yeah, I always liked the way Optimus (and several of the other Transformers) didn't really have "mouths", they just had parts that moved up and down when they talked, or a small hole that would light up. :P

I dunno. I don't have a problem with him in truck form really. I'm more upset with Bumblebee's change which I believe was purely a marketing decision much like when they killed Optimus back in the 80s.

If those bastards kill him again, I'm gonna go apeshit.

My brother just turned 30, and he just threw a massive 80's themed party at his friend's apartment, and the nostalgia thing seemed to be a big hit. Maybe something like that.

That'd be fun, but I really can't host much of a party at my place is the problem...
